Win $500 by coming to Group Fitness classes!

16 weeks ago our group fitness challengers signed up for the Group Fitness Challenge, to complete 100 classes by October 2nd, and they're in the running to win cash and prizes up to the value of $500! We've given away Lulu Lemon yoga mats, RecCentre bootcamps, spin classes and gifts, and nutrition supplements courtesy of iSupps Christchurch. There is a separate draw for those completing between 50-100 classes, so you can still join in the fun. To reach 100 would be a real challenge, its 6-7 classes per week (but you can do 30min HIIT and yoga classes), but to reach 50 is totally doable and supremely healthy in a busy student life, at just 3-4 classes per week. It costs just $15 to join.

Term 3 Small Group Training - Registrations now open.

Bored with your current exercise programme and want to try something a bit different? We have a bunch of 6 week Small Group Training courses that run each term to help you add variety into your weekly workouts. Choose from Bootcamp, Boxing, Suspension Training, Yoga Play, Meditation through Yin Yoga and Staff Only Yoga.

StartMe - Free Gym Programmes

Ready to start your health & fitness journey but not sure where to start? Try a StartMe session with a qualified fitness consultant. They're FREE! We'll take you on a tour of the facility (if you want one), have a chat to you about your goals and experience, and then take you through a basic gym programme to get you started. You can request a male or female consultant if you have a preference, please just ask at the time of booking. It's the ideal time to get started and get your routines in place for Semester 2!

Spin Bikes for Sale

TeachMe - Free Gym Intro sessions

Would you like to start working out at the gym, but not sure where to start? You can get free advice and education from our gym staff by booking in for a TeachMe Gym Intro session. Just 30mins long, and limited to around 4 people per session, we will take you through the basics of some of the equipment and training styles on offer at the gym, giving you the confidence to build your own programmes and evaluate what you see on the web. We offer sessions in free weights, machine weights, foam rolling, core, kettlebells, intervals & circuits, swissball and suspension training. Gym Hosts - Co-curricular Record opportunity

Do you love the gym? Do you want to help people in the gym, that look a little lost or need a bit of help with technique or motivation? We currenlty have a few volunteer positions available for Gym Hosts. As part of this activity, you'll earn up to 2 intersection points for your CCR. We'll provide you comprehensive training, and there are a limited number of opportunities for suitable candidates to undertake and complete the National Certificate in Fitness (Foundation Skills) or (Exercise Consultant), giving you a qualification with which you can apply for fitness consulting employment in the future, both locally and overseas.
